William "Billy" Connelly

William “Billy” Connelly, 62, born August 13, 1963, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at John Dempsey UCONN Hospital with family by his side. Bill was born at Waterbury hospital and soon after becoming a ward of the State. In the 1980’s our family was blessed to become Bill’s legal guardians.

Bill enjoyed all holidays, birthdays, overnights and vacations for over 40 years with our family, as well as attending church at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wethersfield.

Billy was loved by so many people, from roommates and coworkers, and staff at group homes and workshops to his ‘family’. Bill is predeceased by our parents, Elle and Red Koczka and his dear friend, Bruce Butterfield. He is survived by his sisters, Marge, Anne, Libby, Kim and Sue and her husband JJ Cardillo, Big Brother to Breen, Brayson and Evan Bernard and adored by Brayson’s daughter Luna, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

Billy was charming, funny, silly, and incredibly loveable. We have wonderful memories and moments to reflect on. Bill’s impact on our family was one of the most valuable and treasured gifts of our lives and he will be missed dearly.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at 371 Wolcott Hill Rd. Wethersfield, CT with visitors received at 10:30 a.m. in the foyer.
