Charlotte Stephenson Michael

On Saturday, May 15, 2021, Charlotte Stephenson Michael, loving mother and wife, passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 72. Charlotte was born November 5, 1948 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of John D. and Eva H. Stephenson, of Weyers Cave, VA. She was part of the first graduating class of Fort Defiance High School, class of 1967. Charlotte was an avid Elvis fan and enjoyed flowers and crafts. She played piano and organ at church. She also loved her angels; it is estimated she has over 300. Her husband once stated her cooking started out rough, but Charlotte kept at it and became an excellent cook, known for her homemade rolls. Everyone helping upload hay on the farm was guaranteed a hearty meal. She was known for her wit and honesty; everyone knew exactly what Charlotte was thinking. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Michael. They married March 30, 1968 and raised two sons, Calvin and Jeff, and daughter, Denise. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Tyler, Gabby, Gracie, Noah, and Jack. Friends may visit the family 6-8 pm, Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at her residence. A graveside service will be held 11 am, Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the Lebanon Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 1168 Lebanon Church Rd, Mt. Sidney, with Pastors Wayne Pence and Ed Pruitt officiating.
