Ferraba McCray Winegard, 89, of Verona, passed away on July 11, 2022.

She was born on June 4, 1933 in Augusta County and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lula Mae Siron McCray.

Ferraba lived most of her life in Augusta County and was a member of Lebanon Church of the Brethren. She worked as a cook for Augusta County School system for 20 plus years until retiring in 1998.

On November 14, 1952, she married Wallace W. Winegard, who preceded her in death on August 12, 1972.

She is survived by a son Beverly M. Winegard of Verona; a daughter, Sherry W. Trageser of Staunton; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Finley McCray of Swope; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Warren W. Winegard and a number of brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends 6-7 pm, Friday, July 15, 2022 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Weyers Cave. The casket will be closed.
