On behalf of the Colegio San Ignacio class of 1968 we send our deepest condolences to the family of our great teacher and mentor Mr. Bush. 
His chemistry and physics classes established a solid base of knowledge to all his students and he has always been remembered at our class reunions as one of our favorite teachers and inspiration both in the classroom and on the sports field. 
Rest in peace dear Mr. Bush.

'The River' was the pulse for Greg's life at the Port Republic house.  There were the animals he loved (and fed), the family gatherings and games, the view of the mountains, the trails to be walked with Rodney, but it was the river behind the house that was the daily pulse for how the day was going to unfold for Greg.  If you wanted to see Greg giggle like a little kid, just watch him pull in a nice smallmouth bass while fishing in the kayak.  If you wanted to see Greg in a pure peaceful state, one just had to watch him start his float down the river from below the rapids... leaning back, legs out, paddle across his waist, fishing pole laying across the front of the kayak, and his favorite cigar lit with the smoke trailing behind him.  No man was happier than Greg floating down the river at dusk on a summer evening, cigar and fishing rod in hand.  :)

My name is Carlos T Mock MD.  I live in Chicago these days. Mr. Bush was my chemistry teacher in 1971 at Colegio San Ignacio in San Juan, PR.  Later I befriended him, Polly and their children.  I even remember babysitting for the children once.

I am so sorry for your loss. I will never forget my year (1978-79) in Mr. Bush’s chemistry class at Antilles High School. Everything seemed to come so naturally to him, and I’m sure I was one of his bigger challenges as a student. Even so, he was always kind, patient, and encouraging.

He remains so fresh in my memories after all these years, which speaks to the lasting impact he had on his students. I know he touched my life, and I will always be grateful for the lessons he taught, both inside and outside the classroom. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he influenced.

My most sincere condolences to all family, friends and students, Mr. Busch was the Best teacher, my favorite, thoroughly enjoyed my Physics class and the way he sought to share meaningful information with that 5min kickoff to class with a handout for voluntary reading and off he went to class Subject… it was a privilege and a blessing to be a part of his classroom… may all be at peace at this time 🙏

My deepest condolences, Mr. Bush was the best chemistry teacher. He was hilarious, witty and sometimes caustically honest. It was the most fun I've had in a class ever. I loved that he loved jazz because then I didn't feel like such a nerd. He pushed me to be better, to move past mediocrity and shoot for excellence. It's been over twenty years since I took a class with him. I never forgot him.

My deepest condolences.  Mr Bush was my chemistry teacher in high school!  I  now 50 years old and still remeber his passion and crazy character in the class room making chemistry fun!!!

Mr. Bush inspired my love of science and helped set me on the path to a PhD in Chemical Engineering. Forever grateful for his candor and his teaching. My condolences to his family.

When I saw cool rocks in life, I thought of Mr. Bush and that Earth Science class! My heartfelt condolences.

I remember the first time you spoke to me. You had basketball tryouts the day before and you stopped to watch me play in the gym at lunchtime. I had impressed you so you stopped me and asked, "Why didn't you try out for the team?" I responded, " I did tryout, but you were busy looking at the tall guys."

I have great memories of playing basketball at your house on weekends in Puerto Rico. Favorite memory was the graveyard you drew on the chalkboard and a tombstone with my name on it for the football all star game. They assigned me to block as a tackle and I only weighed 165#'s. The RIP on my tombstone was changed after the game to MVP.  Against all odds I had excelled in the game. Luv ya Man!

Dear Dona Polly, Kathy, Mike, Pat and Chris,
I’m Diana Melendez (Class of ‘76), Eddie and Angel Melendez’s sister. Mr. Bush was one of my favorite teachers. Without him, l wouldn’t have passed Geometry in summer school (he taught it one summer) and Chemistry II. Even though l was a good student, anything having to do with math was difficult. Mr. Bush was smart, mild mannered, funny and a Master Teacher. He was also an amazing basketball coach and family friend. He gave my brothers refuge from a difficult home life. I celebrate Mr. Bush’s extraordinary life and convey my deepest condolences.

May Mr. Bush rest in peace.  Will be forever remembered  for his effort to make us love Chemistry like he did. Our condolences to his wife,Polly, Pat, Chris, Kathy , Mike , grandchildren and other members of the family.

When Greg first moved in to Mumaw house he wasn't thrilled to say the least but over time he became comfortable with us, it was a pleasure to care for him and I will miss his smiling face.

It was a pleasure being Greg’s nurse in the Mumaw house.  My thoughts and prayers are with Kathy and the rest of the family.
