
He was born on March 14, 1936, in Kane, PA to the late Harold H. Bush and Virginia Kuhn.
Greg is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pollyanna (Polly) A. Zegri Bush. In addition to his wife, Greg is survived by his brothers Grant and Jeff as well as his four children, Kathryn, Michael (Sylvia), Patrick (Nery) and Christopher (Kathy). Also left to cherish his memory are his eight grandchildren, Patrick, Ana (John), Isabel (Nick), Samuel, Jacob, Gabriel, Dante and Vasco and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Neal.
After graduating from the University of Kentucky, he joined the US Navy achieving the rank of Commander at the time of his retirement in 1996. He began his teaching career at Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola and in 1973 began teaching at Antilles High School in Fort Buchanan, PR. He joined the Augusta County Public School system teaching chemistry at Riverheads and Buffalo Gap high schools, finally retiring in 2010.
He had a passion for teaching chemistry and physics as well as coaching basketball and baseball.
Beyond his accomplishments as a teacher and coach, he found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors, had a special affection for animals, and music was a constant source of happiness throughout his life. His kindness and steady presence touched countless lives, and his memory will continue to live in on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered with love.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm, Friday, July 31, 2026, at Lindsey Funeral Home in Weyers Cave. Inurnment will be held 10 am, Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Port Republic Cemetery.
