Volene Virginia McDonaldson

A daughter of the late Andrew and Frances Crickenberger Rodeffer, she was born on May 27, 1923 in Augusta County. She made her home in the Weyers Cave community all of her life and had been employed by Blosser Produce. Mrs. McDonaldson was a member of the Weyers Cave Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary; the Weyers Cave Lions Club and St. Andrews United Church of Christ at Weyers Cave.

Her husband, Jerney Wilson McDonaldson, preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Donald McDonaldson and his wife, Stella of Swoope, VA; a granddaughter, Sherry Fisher and her husband Jack; a grandson, David McDonaldson and wife, Olympia; a step-granddaughter, Anny Paiva and her husband, Josey; a great-grandson, Tyler Tuttle; two great-granddaughters, Bridgett and Brittany McDonaldson; a step-great-grandson, Jacob Coffey and a special nephew, Leonard Canipe. She was preceded in death by a son, Danny R. McDonaldson; a sister, Ellen comer; a daughter-in-law, Mary Alice McDonaldson and a special friend, Miller Kyger.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock Wednesday morning, Aug. 10th at the St. Andrews United Church of Christ with the Rev. Doyle Payne officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul’s Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 this Tuesday evening at the Lindsey Weyers Cave Funeral Home.
