Adam Edward Martinez

He was an Army Veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific. He was a retired employee of the Louisiana State Highway Department. After he retired, he began working at Cora Texas Manufacturing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Therese Breaux Martinez; two children Adam J. “Rock” Martinez and wife Margaret of White Castle and Adele “Dale” Martinez Himel and husband Robert of Donaldsonville; four grandchildren Everette Himel and wife Jennifer, Mandy Rodriguez and husband Jose, Scott Martinez and wife Heather, Tommy Martinez and wife Samantha; seven great grandchildren Hannah Himel, Claire, Landon, and Noah Martinez, Luis, Angelica, and Maribel Rodriguez; two sisters Mary Jane Martinez and Bernice Miller both of Slidell, La; sister-in-law Yvonne Breaux; and brother-in-law Raymond Breaux of Pierre Part; special Godchild Cindy Savoy.

Preceded in death by his parents Omer and Emma Blanchard Martinez; sister Agnes Martinez; and brother and sister-in-law Joseph Martinez and wife Virgie.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Martinez, Scott Martinez, Robert Himel, Brad Miller, Jose Rodriguez, and Everette Himel.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Glenn Schexnayder and staff, Diversified Home Health, caregivers Norma, Chris, Charlene, Dieatricha, Corine, and Meshone.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church or to a favorite charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in White Castle from 9:00 a.m. till Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow in church
