Bessie Marie (Baudin) Shaheen

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed gardening and loved hummingbirds. She devoted herself to scouting as a den mother and troop leader. She was a beloved servant to Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church parish.

She is survived by her loving sons, John Shaheen (Jan) and Ronnie Shaheen; three grandchildren, Aleta Summers (Fred), Jonathan Shaheen (Alyssa) and Ian Shaheen (Sierra); four great-grandchildren, Kimberly Summers, Koa Shaheen, Ellison Summers and Sage Shaheen; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Elizon Baudin; her husband of 39 years, Roland Shaheen; sisters, Myrtle Langlois, Vivian Bandy, Elaine Smith and Beverly Ayers; brothers, Earl and Milburn Baudin; great-grandchild, Asher Shaheen; and her grand-dog, Oliver.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at the church mausoleum in White Castle. Father Alec Sheldon will be officiating.
