Clara Marie Papet Roberts, native of White Castle, born January 1, 1926 to Leonce and Corinne Comeaux Papet, resident of Plaquemine for the last 10 years, passed from this life March 13, 2024 at the age of 98.
Clara, a devout Catholic, was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Dianne Troxclair Roberts of White Castle; granddaughter, Erica Roberts Hazelton (Robert) of Lakewood, Washington; grandson, Justin Michael Roberts (Terri) of Bayou Sorrell; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald Paul Roberts, Sr. (Buddy); son, Gerald Paul Roberts, Jr. (Doodles); brother, Louis Martin Papet and wife, LeeAnna; nephew Benjamin Papet; brothers-in-law and their wives, Floyd and Malvina (Tidda) Roberts and Warren (Dell) and Jean Roberts.
Clara was a graduate of White Castle High School, class of 1943 and studied nursing at Hotel Dieu in New Orleans. She and her husband later graduated from Lewis Hotel-Motel School in Washington, D.C. and began a new career managing golf and country clubs in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, White Castle, conducted by the Rev. Alec Sheldon. Burial to follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.
