

Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He had a deep love for his family, and his greatest joy came from spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. In his younger days, he enjoyed camping and doing woodwork. Donald retired after a fulfilling career as an Operator with Southern Natural Gas Company. Donald was a proud Marine Corps veteran and he also served as a member of the Lions Club, where he made lasting contributions to the local community and lifelong friendships.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of sixty three years, Gladys Landry Callegan; two daughters, Kim Yarbrough (Kenneth) and Lori Gregoire (Charles); six grandchildren, Kip Yarbrough (Sara), Dylan Gregoire, Kade Yarbrough (Mikalynn), Haley Gregoire King (Joel), Hannah Gregoire and Keri Yarbrough Salvato (Gabe); seven great grandchildren; five siblings, Carolyn Naquin, Margie Landry, Dolores Lorio (Danny), Barrie Callegan and Brenda Thomas and his two godchildren, Brent Messina and Kenny Landry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Princess Daigle Callegan.
A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in White Castle on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 8:30am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church at 11am with interment to follow in the White Castle Mausoleum.
