

“Bobby” was born on January 18, 1934 and passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 14, 2017. He was a native of White Castle and a resident of Baton Rouge. He proudly served overseas in the United States Army. He was a volunteer at Woman’s Hospital and also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club, the Elks Club and the Cruisin’ Cajuns Motorhome Club. Bobby and his wife, Audrey, thoroughly enjoyed traveling together and discovering new places. He was an avid hunter, but his favorite pastime was spending weekends with family and friends fishing at his camp in Grand Isle where many a fish were caught, fried, and eaten. Bobby began his career in the cattle business with his father and then later worked at CF Industries. He also owned and operated Walker’s Heating and Air from which he officially retired in 1994.
Bobby leaves behind his wife, Audrey Landry Walker, the love of his life for 62 years. He is also survived by one son, Robert “Robby” Walker and his wife, Aimee; one daughter, Wendy Walker Stanford and her husband, Aaron; five grandchildren, Bailey and Taylor Walker; Parker, Ryan and Rebecca Stanford. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerdie and Elmer Walker, Sr. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of St. James Place Companions, especially Kay Kay, Jackie, Edna and Shonda for their loving care and to Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially Suzie Boudinot. The family would also like to thank everyone who offered up prayers and provided food during this difficult time.
Visitation will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Baton Rouge on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am conducted by Father Donald Blanchard. Interment to follow at St. George Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in honor of Bobby to the charity of your choice or to the Louisiana Youth Seminar (louisianayouthseminar.org/donate) in honor of “Captain Nemo.”
