Gaston Louie Bordelon Jr.

Gaston Louie Bordelon Jr. passed away at his residence in White Castle on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at the age of 83. He was a native of Morganza, U.S. Army veteran and retired carpenter. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Dawson Bordelon; four sons and spouses, Gaston Louie Bordelon III and Ellen, Mark Bordelon and Patty, John Wayne Bordelon and Carolyn, and Brian Bordelon and Christy; two daughters and spouses, Melanie Bordelon LeBlanc and husband Ronnie, and Catherine Bordelon Richard and husband Joseph; two sisters, Helen Berthelot, of Baker, and Jackie Switzer, of Jeanerette; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Gaston Louie Bordelon Sr. and Hazel Babin Bordelon; son, Gary Bordelon; sister, Lorraine Robillard; and two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Bordelon. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 25, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Joey Angeles and Deacon Willie Berthelot. Entombment in White Castle Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are his brothers-in-law, Johnny Switzer and Willie Berthelot. I miss you so much pawpaw. i will never forget all our memories we shared and all our lunch dates we had from the fights with you touching the air to our talks outside about all the sports events going on.i will never EVER walking in the house and you calling my name always asking me to go get you some cookies and ice cream. all thoses time you came and sat at the table and helped me take the cans and food out the bags and always kept me company. thanks for everything you did for me back in the days when you would come pick me up from school and then we would go to your house and go watch cartoons. I will always take those memories with me and make sure bailegh and ali know that you loved them sooo much because you always wanted to see them every chance you would. it hurts to know that i missed seeing you for fathers day and im very sorry about that. i will still go visit you on sundays! lovee and miss you SOOOO much! watch over us and know all your angels will have their very own gardian angel up in heaven! I will take good care of maw maw for you like you always told me to make sure she eats and has her coffee! LOVEE YOU ALWAYS. <3

I'm glad that I have so many good memories with my paw paw.... from riding my bike around town while he walked.... going up to the station to get a coke.... peeling pecans..... and hiding from him in the tree!! He was the best paw paw ever... and will be so missed... Love you paw paw!!!
