Gaston Louie Bordelon Jr. passed away at his residence in White Castle on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at the age of 83. He was a native of Morganza, U.S. Army veteran and retired carpenter. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Dawson Bordelon; four sons and spouses, Gaston Louie Bordelon III and Ellen, Mark Bordelon and Patty, John Wayne Bordelon and Carolyn, and Brian Bordelon and Christy; two daughters and spouses, Melanie Bordelon LeBlanc and husband Ronnie, and Catherine Bordelon Richard and husband Joseph; two sisters, Helen Berthelot, of Baker, and Jackie Switzer, of Jeanerette; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Gaston Louie Bordelon Sr. and Hazel Babin Bordelon; son, Gary Bordelon; sister, Lorraine Robillard; and two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Bordelon. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 25, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Joey Angeles and Deacon Willie Berthelot. Entombment in White Castle Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are his brothers-in-law, Johnny Switzer and Willie Berthelot.
