Genevieve Jenkins Hymel

Genevieve Jenkins Hymel, 78, a native of Covington and a resident of White Castle, passed away peacefully at the Baton Rouge General - Bluebonnet on Wednesday May 25, 2016, after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her daughters Debra Hymel Cagle and husband Michael of Warwick, NY and Kay Hymel Browning and husband Val of Baton Rouge and grandsons Matthew and Michael Browning, the light of her eyes. She was a retired home maker and long time volunteer for the church and the White Castle Lions Club. Proceed in death by her husband Jerry James, daughter Susan, brother Arville Jenkins and parents Boyd and Mildred Jenkins. Visitation will take place on Friday May 27, 2016 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in White Castle from 9 - 11am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial conducted by Fr. Donald Blanchard, with burial in White Castle Mausoleum. Family would like to thank the physicians and nurses of the Oncology Unit at the Baton Rouge General on Bluebonnet.
