On Tuesday, July 1, 2014 Jeannette "Jean" Daigle Landry, 80, of White Castle took her wings and made her way to meet the Lord. She was the most selfless person one could ever meet. A simple woman, kind to everyone. If you knew her you loved her. And yes, she had wrinkles on her face and EACH of them told a story. She was the best example of unconditional love God could have given us. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother anyone could hope for. She lived for her family and at 80 years old she was still cooking Sunday lunch for them. She overcame many obstacles and difficulties during her lifetime but did so very bravely.
Jeannette is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Mark (Byrd) Simoneaux, and Melanie and Lynn Breaux; four sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Susan Landry, Daryl (Bosco) and Paulette Landry, Brent and Ruthie Landry, and Gordon and Donna Landry; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one sister, Flavia Sedotal; and Jennifer Morales Landry.
Preceded in death by husband, Alge Leonard Landry, Sr.; mother, Pauline Crochet Daigle; father, Cyril Daigle, Sr.; two sons, Alge (T-sy) Landry, Jr. and wife Judy; and Todd Landry; three sisters, Agnes, Lucy, and Lizzie Landry; and four brothers, Cyril, Jr., Alphonse, Richard, and Alger Daigle.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Monday, July 7, 2014 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in White Castle. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in White Castle.
