Lydia Ann Parker, a native and longtime resident of White Castle, LA, passed away on January 11, 2018 at the age of 87. Lydia was a wonderful, kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She adored her family and friends. Her favorite pastime was cooking and baking. Everyone especially looked forward to her Eggplant Beignets, her famous Rock Cookies, and Italian Fig Cookies. She also enjoyed watching tennis matches on television. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Richard, who cared for her every day until her passing; one brother, Clifton Hernandez of New Iberia, LA.; two daughters, Deborah Barbier of White Castle, and Lisa Brooks (Steve) of Madisonville; two sons, Hershel Falcon (Dale) of Baton Rouge, and Benjamin Parker (Kara) of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren, Joshua Barbier (Andrea), Drew Barbier (Erin), Gretchen Brown (Michael), Rudy Rodriguez, Jr. , Lindsey Johnson (Brandon), Lance Falcon (Jamee) and Kaylin Parker; ten great- grandchildren, Indie, Jordan, Alexander, Amelié, Quentin, Cooper, Ashton, Parker, Lily, and Allison. She is preceded in death by her parents Adolf and Mae Hernandez; one sister Ida Mae Bergeron; one son, John Leonard Falcon and one son-in law, Gerald James Barbier. The family would like to also thank the Ochsner Medical staff at the Plaquemine, Baton Rouge and Jeffferson Hwy. locations for the wonderful care and support.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in White Castle, LA. on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 9:30 am until the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am. Father Tom Ranzino will be conducting the services. Entombment to follow in the church mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge.
