

Marian Robert Guercio, our beloved mother and Maw Maw Blue, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 yrs old and just 3 days shy of her 94th birthday on July 31st. She was born in Donaldsonville, LA and a resident of White Castle, LA. She was a former Mayor of White Castle for 6 months after the death of her beloved husband, Mayor S. J. “Blue” Guercio, III, in 1993. She was a member of Court St. Bernadette Catholic Daughters and Ladies Altar Society at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.
She is survived by her devoted children who loved and cared for her: Brenda Joffrion (Fil), Marilyn Zeringue (Johnny), Maria Grace (Hank), Sam Joseph, IV (Rita); Camilla Guercio (Dana); Luke Guercio; Russell Guercio (Stacy). Marian was a proud and adoring Maw Maw Blue to 16 grandchildren: 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Marian is also survived by her brother, Eugene T. Robert, Sr., sister, Clara Ann R. LeBlanc, sister-in-law, Jackie M. Robert and numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Benoit Francis and Elise Cire Robert; her husband, Mayor S. J. “Blue” Guercio, III; her daughter, Marian Theresa Guercio; grandchildren, Louis M. Zeringue, II and Britni A. Adams; her great grandchildren, Cooper and Cohen Guercio; her brothers, Curtis, Irby, Herman Sr. (Whitey), Bernard Robert, Sr.; and her sister, Agnes R. Daigle.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, at Ourso Funeral Home in White Castle from 9AM-11:30AM. Funeral mass will be celebrated at noon at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church by Father Matthew Dupre and Father Alec Sheldon. Interment to follow at White Castle Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Brad and Clint Joffrion, William Zeringue, Ernie LeBlanc IV, S. J. Guercio V, Mario Guercio and Seth Guercio.
The family would like to especially thank Charlton Bajon for his dedication in preparing her weekly medicines each week and making sure she had the correct meds daily. The family would also like to thank Comfort Care of Plaquemine, especially Jamie Denoux, for their loving care. Special thanks to her daily caretakers who took such great care of her every day. We are forever grateful to all of you.
She will be remembered for her kindness, loving guidance and the beautiful memories she created with her family and friends. Her love, faith, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to have known her. Her work on earth is done and may she rest in peace in her Heavenly home!
