

Dr. Mike, age 95, a retired dentist and a resident of Valrico, Florida and White Castle, La, passed away May 23, 2022. He was born June 2, 1926 to Naheem & Anna George Francise. He graduated from White Castle High School, attended LSU pre-dental and graduated from Loyola University of New Orleans, LA Dental School in 1949.
After graduating from Loyola, he joined the United States Public Health Services as a 1st lieutenant in the Dental Division and also served as a Captain in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the 6th District Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He was also a member of the American Legion post # 212, the Knights of Columbus 3rd & 4th degrees, and a life-long member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. A devout Catholic, Dr. Mike served at OLPS Church as an altar boy, lector, commentator, religion teacher and Eucharistic Minister.
Dr. Mike is survived by his seven children, Naheem M. Francise, II (Lynda), Geralyn F. Callegan (Bill), Michael J. Francise, Jr., Paula F. McDonner (Paul), Regina F. Villarreal (Al), Cynthia M. Francise, and George A. Francise (Stacy). He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, Natalie Francise, Emily Francise, Laurie Francise, Naim “Trey” Francise III, Robby Daisley (Claudeane); Brad Callegan (Megan), Jake Callegan (Carrie); Ryan McDonner (Sarah), Elise Friddle (Jared); Kristen Gradney (Chad), Matthew Vaughn, Lanie Vaughn; Adam Francise (Catherine) and Callie Francise. Paw-Paw Mike also leaves behind to cherish his memory 14 great-grandchildren: Baylee Rae, Lane, Mia, Kaleb, Koryn, and Kane Callegan; Rylee and Jace Friddle; Cillian and Maeve McDonner; Aiyla Martin, Braxton Vaughn, Hunter and Analise Gradney. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Melvena Dahduh Francise; parents, Naheem and Anna Francise, siblings and their spouses: Norman Francise (Gloria), Ernest “Nessie” Francise (Rose Rita), Elaine Iupe (Lawrence), special cousin Michel Francise; father & mother in-law George and Elizabeth Dahduh.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Ourso Funeral Home, White Castle from 8am - 10am. Rosary will be recited at 10am. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle with interment to follow in the White Castle Mausoleum.
