Therese Landry Rivere

A resident and native of White Castle, Therese passed away peacefully at 8:10 am on Friday, February 4, 2011. She was 97 years old. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Rivere; her parents, Eugene & Virginia Landry, three brothers: Lawless, Oneal, and Edward Landry; five sisters: Stella Boudreaux, Annie Melancon, Nellie Gomez, Inez LeBlanc, and Bernice Woods. She is survived by two sister- in -laws, Gertie Landry and Carmen Rivere, two daughters, Carol Rivere and Marlene Ourso and husband Glen, three sons, Glynn Rivere, Allen”Dottie” Rivere and wife Martha, Randy Rivere and Henry Landry, four grandchildren ,Allison Mack, Scott Rivere and wife Leslie, Brad Ourso and wife Erin, and Valerie Ourso, and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Brendon Rivere. Therese was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and American Legion. She was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. We will miss her very much.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle on Monday, February

7, 2011, from 9:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in White Castle

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at Plaquemine Manor, Comfort Care Hospice, and especially to Joyce Whitaker for the love and care she has shown her for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alheizmer's Association.

Pallbearers will be Glynn Rivere, Allen Rivere, Randy Rivere, Henry Landry, Glen Ourso, Scott Rivere and Brad Ourso.
