Elmer Sloan, 79, of the Whiting section of Manchester Twp., passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 16 at home surrounded by family. He was a driver for Clayton Concrete Co., in Lakewood for over 38 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Whiting Volunteer Fire Department for years. He was also a guide for the East Trenton Rod & Gun Club was a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies and New York Jets fan. He was an avid fisherman & hunter and most of all loved his family very much. Born in Whiting, he was a lifelong resident. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn nee Mack Sloan and his children, Joseph & his wife Lisa, Robert, David & his wife Debra, and his daughter, April Sloan. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Laura and Samuel Sloan, and his brother James & his wife Arlene Sloan. Friends may call on Friday, September 18 from 5-8pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11am from the funeral home. Committal will follow at the Old Whiting Cemetery, Rt 530, Whiting.
