

Born in Staten Island where he lived until moving to Whiting 20 years ago. Mr. Connett also spent most of his teenage years in Sandy Hook before enlisting in the U.S Marines.
Prior to retiring he was a paintmaker for Standard T. Chemical Company & Montgomery Ward in Mariners Harbor, Staten Island. He had also worked as a part-time security guard at the Carmel Richmond Nursing Home in Staten Island.
Mr. Connett was a Corporal in U.S Marines serving in the Pacific Theatre during WW II aboard the USS Columbia. He was also a Die-hard N.Y Yankees Fan as well as an avid fisherman.
He is predeceased by 2 brothers:Clifford & Calvin.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years Agnes O’Brien Connett. 2 daughters: Celia Kelly and her husband Kevin of Monroe, NY and Susan Adkins and her husband James of Mullica Hill, NJ. A son Douglas and his wife Lisa of Howell. 2 sisters; Emily Montgomery and Marion Bonnett.11 Grandchildren: Erin, Christopher, Laura, Lucas, Jared, Katie, Donna Marie, Jason, John, Jacqueline and Courtney. 2 Great-Grandsons: Dylan & Liam. Mr. Connett is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 11AM - 12PM with a service to be held at noon at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting.
