

Jacques Anthony Plüss passed away on Tuesday July 8th in Whiting, NJ. Dr. Plüss was 72 years old when he passed on. He was born in Zurich, Switzerland on 5/29/53 to his parents Jacques Miro Plüss and Nina Elizabeth Bucalo Plüss. An only child, Jacques grew up in between Europe and the US and went to some of the best preparatory schools Long Island offers. He graduated and went to Lafayette College taking a small break to do one tour in Vietnam in which he was injured and earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart then came home to continue on with his education. Graduate school brought him to the University of Chicago where he met his ex wife Deborah Nicholas Plüss on an archeological dig in Israel. Plüss earned a doctorate and married Debbie Nicholas, and their daughter, Rebecca Anne Plüss, was born in 1986.
Dr. Plüss took up residence teaching at William Paterson University in NJ and stayed
20 years. He taught for many years at several institutions.
Dr. Plüss loved equestrian sports and animals, learning, languages, in which he was fluent in three, and traveling. He leaves behind a loving daughter and a large extended family. He had a profound impact on all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
