James R. Bagnall Sr. 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Whiting surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Pt. Pleasant and grew up in West Belmar, he lived in Toms River for 20 years before moving into his dream home in Whiting which he built. He was a construction foreman with the Jocama Construction Company in Old Bridge for 30 years. Jim was a master carpenter and his passion was building custom furniture.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Claire A. Bagnall; his three children and their spouses, Sherrie A. and John Davis of Pennsauken, Dawn M. and Matthew Martyn of Bayville, and James R. Bagnall Jr. of Tuckerton. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Ashley, Lauren, Allyson, Brandon and Carlyann; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sean Martyn's name to Oceans of Love in Toms River or to the Sean Martyn's Fund at www.seanmartynfund.org.
