A good man with a great smile.  An excellent Sergeant and friend.  I will always remember you showing up with the tray of bagels after my mom died.  You where always there for others and you will be greatly missed by us.

Sarge.  The stories you told about camping and cooking were enjoyable and because of you I have taken Reilly camping in the backwoods.  Your devotion not only to your family and friends but to the Boy Scouts and NJDOC was never overlooked by me.  You were a great supervisor and a person who would extend a hand if needed. John text me Friday night asking me to call him and we usually don't talk much outside of work.  I was busy with every day life and trying to rush out the door but I stopped to call him. We had a very positive phone call. John's a great father always trying to do the right thing! He'll be missed.

As Justin said, you "were like an uncle or a second dad to me" as well as to so many of Jack and Jared's friends. You will always be remembered for your dry but hilarious sense of humor. For your willingness to do anything for those you cared about. For your homemade cooking and your happiness to feed anyone in the boyscout community on so many camping trips. For being able to fix just about anything, and when you couldn't fix it.... recycling it into something the boys and their friends could enjoy (example...turning a washing machine drum into fire pit so the boys and their friends could dance around it a -la "Lord of the Flies"!!!). But you will mostly be remembered for being an amazing husband and outstanding father. Rest in peace John knowing that your family and friends will always take care of the three people that mattered the most to you.
