Kathleen was the third child of John and Margaret McCartan, Irish immigrants from County Down. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where she shared many moments of joyful laughter with her six siblings who predeceased her; John McCartan, Anna-mae Moran, Peggy Tasso, Tom McCartan, Hugh McCartan and Alice Theresa Rossiter. Kathleen's good nature, warmth and her ability to keep a secret made her a favorite among her grandchildren. The memories of the love and laughter she shared with all of us will be our comfort.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her five children; Kathleen Thompson (George), John Webb (Cynthia), Colleen Swan (Frank), Kevin Webb and Maureen Webb. Seven grandchildren; Christina Hardwick (Michael), Jennifer Hartrum (Phil), Lisa Botelho (Joseph), Julianna Gelfand (Boris), Frank Swan Jr., Christopher Webb (Nicole), Ashley Thompson; nine great-grandchildren and various nieces, nephews and special friend, Claire Pare'.
A Memorial Mass for Kathleen will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10:45 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church- All Saints Chapel, 30 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting, NJ 08759. A Committal Service will follow at 12:30 PM at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 62 Cedar Grove Rd., Toms River, NJ 08753.
