Lois I. Weidlich, age 65, passed away on March 7, 2021, in Whiting, New Jersey. She was born in New York to Robert and Lillian LaMarr. She married her husband, Stephen Weidlich, in 1976. Although they divorced after 24 years of marriage, they remained lifelong friends. Stephen preceded her in death in 2020.
Lois was a dedicated and committed nurse for over 30 years. For most of her career she was an ER nurse at Community Medical Center in Toms River, and most recently, at RWJ Barnabas Behavioral Health Center. She also trekked around the country for several years as a travel nurse. Lois devoted her life to helping others and found time to volunteer as a hospice nurse and suicide prevention counselor. She sponsored a child, Alladourmadji, through World Vision for many years.
Lois leaves a lifetime of memories for those who knew her. She was pitted cherries in the summertime, quiet footsteps in moccasins, hard peppermint candies, DIY crafts, stingrays roaming shallow waters, wind chimes breezing in different octaves, speeding tickets in a snappy car, the first star at night, a timeless plaid dress, the pure white color of Jesus's robe, warm coffee with vanilla, faith, and magic itself.
Lois spent hours combing the beach for perfect shells, but she also saw greatness where others saw only driftwood. And it is because of this difference that her light touched everyone she met. Her legacy compels us to search for the highest good, in others, in all, and in God's will.
Lois is survived by her children, Eric and Teresa; son-in-law Scott and beloved granddaughter, Lily; her brother, Robert, twin sister Louise, and her nieces and nephews.
The family will conduct a private memorial. In remembrance of Lois, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to your favorite charity.
