

She was born on June 2, 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland to William Charles and Anna Katherine (Finger) Easten.
She was baptized at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Baltimore on July 9, 1933. She attended school at SS. Philip and James School in Baltimore.
She married David Kern on the 16th of May 1955 in the First Lutheran Church in Baltimore. David was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. They had one daughter together, Linda.
During their marriage they traveled to many Air Force Bases across the country including Alaska, Montana, California, Michigan and New Jersey.
Her mother Anna, brothers Ron and John moved with them to Traverse City, Michigan.
After David retired from the Air Force, they settled in New Jersey.
Margaret was employed by Lincoln Federal Savings Bank in Westfield, New Jersey. They lived in Scotch Plains and then Mountainside, New Jersey. They attended and were very active in their church - Redeemer Lutheran in Westfield, New Jersey.
Margaret and Dave divorced in 1983.
Margaret retired to Crestwood Village in Whiting, New Jersey in 1997 where she met a former acquaintance John Larino.
They were together in Whiting, New Jersey until John’s passing in 2020.
John and Margaret traveled extensively and were very active in their church, Christ Lutheran Church in Whiting, New Jersey.
During retirement, Margaret liked to volunteer her time to various charity organizations.
Margaret moved to Brandywine Assisted Living in Bridgewater, New Jersey in 2024 and was living there when she passed.
Her brothers Ron (2025) and John (2007) predeceased her in Traverse City, Michigan. Her older brother William Charles Jr. passed in 1950 in San Francisco, California.
Surviving are her daughter Linda, her son-in-law Richard O’Brien and two granddaughters Jennifer and Tara.
Also surviving is Ron’s wife Rita and their daughter Robin (Robin’s daughters Annika and Isabelle) who reside in Traverse City, Michigan and their daughter Rian who resides in Arizona.
Also surviving is her nephew William Charles Easten III.
There will be a service officiated by the Rev. Dr. J.Francis Watson at Christ Lutheran Church in Whiting, New Jersey on July 18th 2026 at 1:00 PM.followed by inurnment of ashes in the Lamb of God Memorial Garden at the church.
