Peg (Mack) Burkett died peacefully on 21 June 2026, at The Pines at Whiting Hamilton Place in Whiting NJ. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, 25 February 1936, to George and Reba (Stewart) Mack, she lived her life with an enduring love for the ocean, had a wonderful sense of humor, and an endearing personality.
Peg graduated from William MacFarland High School, Bordentown, New Jersey. Peg was known to all as a steadfast and loving wife, aunt, co-worker, and friend – a woman who was able to find excitement and humor in life’s twists and turns. She married Robert Burkett in 1955 and they had 25 wonderful years together until Bob passed in 1980. She had a highly successful career with Sears and loved their two dogs, Bootie and Pepper.
Peg enjoyed spending time with family and friends, both in person and on the phone. She enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Europe and to visit her sister’s family in Colorado, Texas, and her niece in Alaska, even going into interior Alaska to cross the Arctic Circle. And she especially enjoyed spending time with her wonderful, long-time friends, Rick and Lynn.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Maryland, and Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Peg’s memory to any charitable organization of your choice.
