October 31, 1944 - June 5, 2025

Margaret (Jean) Regina Winter (née Steiner), 80, of Whiting, NJ passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Ocean University Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Born and raised in Lakehurst, NJ, she lived in Matawan, Manchester, Toms River, and Pennsylvania before moving to Whiting in 2015.

Jean attended Lakehurst Elementary School and was a 1963 Central Regional High School graduate. She worked as a teacher's aide in the Manchester Twp. and Jim Thorpe school districts. Jean enjoyed cooking and going out to new places with her family. Bird watching at home always gave her comfort, especially hummingbirds. Jean loved rock music and attending concerts. Painting became a passion later in her life. She also enjoyed annual Florida RV trips during the colder months. Jean will be dearly missed by her family and friends that she loved and would always find the time for.

Jean was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Steiner (née Kilpatrick) in 1963; her father Charles Steiner in 1996; and her brother Jimmy Steiner in 2024. 

Surviving are her husband of 22 years, Greg Gondecki; son Brian Winter and his wife Heather; son Kevin Winter; and her stepson Shawn Gondecki.

Also surviving are her brother Charles K. Steiner Sr. and his wife Liisa; nephew Charles K. Steiner Jr. and his wife Marion;  nieces Renee Hicks and Cheryl Sargent, and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A Celebration Of Life gathering will be held on June 21st from 3:30 until Services begin at 4:30pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ. Committal was private.
