Whiting – Mary Congleton, 90, died on September 8, 2021 at Pine Ridge South, her home in Whiting with her son Tom, and boxer Shelby by her side. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, she grew up on a farm in Lambertville, lived in Hopewell Township for many years with her husband and two sons before moving to Whiting. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who liked spending time with family and friends, and playing bingo. She was employed for many years with the State of New Jersey Department of Labor, before retiring to Whiting.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Clarence Congleton, her parents Joseph and Mary Michitsch, and her two brothers, Frank Michitsch and Al Grunseich. She is survived by her two sons Michael (Mary Ellen) of Bordentown, NJ, and Thomas of Whiting, NJ, two grandchildren – Kelly Hudspeth (Matthew) and Sean Congleton (Kaitlyn), and two great grandchildren – Hunter and Aurora. Mary will be missed by many other friends and relatives.

Calling hours will be 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm on Saturday, September 18 at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home of Manchester, NJ, 115 Lacey Rd., Whiting. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mary’s name to the Visiting Nurse Association Health Group, Attn: Philanthropy Department, 23 Main St., Suite D1, Holmdel, NJ 07733 or www.vnahg.org.
