Mary G. Malachowski, 87, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2021 at home. Mary was the daughter of Francis Shanley and Gladys Miller and was raised in Springfield, MA. She also lived in West Springfield, MA and Feeding Hills, MA before moving to Whiting 20 years ago.

Mary worked as a Data Processor for Carlisle Co. in Springfield, MA where she met her husband, William. She was an extraordinary minister for Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and sang soprano in the choir. She was also a volunteer for Agawam Senior Services and lovingly cared for many elderly citizens. Mary enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and she loved dogs, especially her two Labradors, Andy and Andi. She also loved traveling, visiting Cape Cod and spending summers at the “Cape House” in Dennis Port, MA. Family was very important to Mary, and she enjoyed hosting numerous gatherings for her family and friends. Some of her favorite times were spent at their backyard picnics.

Mary was predeceased by a son, William Jr.; her brother, Frannie; and her sister, Claire Muransky. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 68 years, William; her daughter, Kathleen Malachowski of Toms River, NJ; and step-grandson, Jared Ruutikainen.

Cremation will be private. There will be a Memorial Mass on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, 12:00 noon at St. John’s Catholic Church, 619 Chestnut St, Lakehurst, NJ. Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
