Matt was born Aug. 8, 1935 in N.Y.C. He grew up in Ridgefield Park, NJ, attended St. Cecelia H.S. and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a B.S. in business administration. He spent his career in the food and beverage supply industry, most recently as District Sales Manager for Anheuser-Busch Corp. in Golden, Colorado.
He served his country in the U.S. Army, 82nd. Airborne Division and was honorably discharged in 1956.
Matt was pre-deceased by the love of his life, Clair and is survived by his sister Joyce, her husband John and their children John III and Jeannie Collins. He had many cousins living in Prairie, Montana, and fond in-laws of the Mallon family in NJ, Va. And Florida. A voracious reader and traveler, he visited every state in the U.S. as well as to Europe and was a thoroughly interesting conversationalist.
A most generous man, Matt will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
