Melissa Lynn Haines

Melissa Lynn Haines, 38, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, NJ. Melissa was born in Lakewood and grew up in Whiting. She graduated from Regional Day School in Jackson in 2007. She went on to attend Ladacin Adult Program in Lakewood where she had many friends and enjoyed bingo, camping and many other activities.

Melissa loved music, especially Elvis. She enjoyed attending many Elvis impersonator shows and collecting the Elvis memorabilia each performer gifted her. She had a passion for life and never let her disability get her down. She enjoyed the independence her power wheelchair gave her and lived life to the fullest, never missing an opportunity to dance or race down the boardwalk. She touched everyone’s heart that she met and will be dearly missed.

Melissa was predeceased by her grandparents Roy & Joan Edgar and Joe & Estella Romans. She is survived by her mother Jeanie Champion and her husband Everett; her father Thomas Haines; her sister Norma Rivera; her brother Norman Stevenson and his wife Christina; many aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews; and her beloved Chihuahua Elvis.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ. Funeral Services were held at the funeral home at 8pm.
