Michael John Mingoia, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Born on October 7, 1950, in Jersey City, NJ, Mike lived in Center City, PA and retired to Whiting, New Jersey several years ago.
Mike worked most of his life as a teacher with a loud voice, standing 6ft. 3in. and his students took notice. Before retiring, he was a Special Education Teacher for Tinton Falls Middle School.
Mike was also a big brother to a young boy who didn't get a great chance in life. He opened his eyes to what he could do and be in life and he made a difference for people. When Mike lived in Center City in a co-op, he worked as a board member and made a difference in everyone's living conditions as well as made many good friends.
Mike was a funny, happy guy to be around. He could always put a smile on your face. He would always notice if a person needed some help, like he had radar, and then did whatever was needed to put a smile back on their faces.
Mike loved to do and see new places & things, and he wanted to be part of a new experience. His favorite place besides his home was Italy; he could not get enough of it.
Most of all, Mike was a beloved husband for 25 years to his very loved and lucky Kelly, and what a real man is supposed to be; kind, thoughtful, funny and always making him feel the same. Kelly will be "seeing you in all of your familiar places, hearing your favorite song and will always be your proud husband of 25 years". Mike also leaves behind many cherished family members & friends. He will be dearly missed.
Services will be private. Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ is in charge of the arrangements.
