The life of Dr. Richard Przystup is epitomized in the CAIM, the encircling prayer of the early Celtic Christians.

Keep compassion within, keep hard-heartedness without;
Keep wisdom within, keep folly without;
Keep generosity within, keep bitterness without;
Keep wholeness within, keep sickness without;
Keep love within, keep hatred out.

(Excerpt from the CAIM).

Encircle O God, Dr. Richie and his family in your Presence.

Matthew, Amy, Theresa,

Richie was the kindest most compassionate and humble person we ever met. He helped us both through trying times. We will always carry him in our hearts forever. We will miss you Richie, but we know you are in a happier place.

Dr. Przystup taught Chemistry in my senior year at St. Mary's High in Jersey City ,1963-64. He was brilliant, down-to-earth and above all, a good and caring Christian man of strong values. Rest in peace.

To my friend and colleague, Dr. Richard Przystup, Condolences, sympathy and Love to members of your wonderful family: your son Matthew, your daughter Amy,your precious granddaughter Isabella Page and your brothers and sisters. I shared a splendid collegiality with you Rich, both as faculty members of Hudson Catholic High School in Jersey City and as Adjunct faculty professors at St. Peters college. As a doctor, you practiced your profession with skill, humility and compassion; as an intellect, your knowledge was comprehensive- without pretension or falsity. I'll miss those profound conversations we had on: Life, Philosophy, Politics, Education and Medicine. When I think of you, my friend, I can only paraphrase the words of Shakespeare: Your Life was gentle and the elements so mixed in you that Nature might stand up and say "This was a Man!" Rest in peace, my friend. Love, John Ferro and family.

Dear Przystup Family...and especially Matt and Amy,
How sad I was to have a call from Kevin sharing the news about your beloved Richie. Years pass and our family circles grow smaller, but know that I hold dear the past memories with the Przystup family, the contacts at Christmas,the frequent updates from Brian and Kevin, and Hank's wonderful "perfect family" holiday newsletters. It was an honor to be a part of your family for 12 short years with my dear soul mate, Len. May God hold you all in His precious arms as you face this untimely tragedy. With sympathy and love, Donna (P.) Welch
