Salvatore Failla, 83, of the Whiting section of Manchester Twp., passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Salvatore worked his entire life, more recently self-employed as the owner of Alba Pizzeria in Browns Mills for many years. He always put others first before himself and the most important thing in his life was his family.

Born in Carini, Palermo Sicily, Italy. He came to the U.S. in 1960 and settled in Brooklyn, NY. He lived there for a good part of his life, before relocating to Browns Mills, coming to Whiting 2 years ago.

Salvatore is predeceased by a daughter the late Phyllis in 2005 and a sister Rosaria Mannino in 2009. He is survived by his wife Rosalia of 57 years, and his 3 children, John, Domenica & Sal Failla. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Christina & Marina Tabbita and Rosamaria & Leonardo Failla.

Friends may call on Friday from 6-9pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ 08759. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Saturday, November 10 at 9am from the All Saints Chapel at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd. Whiting. I remember coming to Alba's many many times as a kid with my parents. my dad used to sit and talk with Sal for hours on end. I had my birthday party there once. Really nice man and family. My deepest condolences to the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with sals family.I met sal snd his family when I was 12 I came into to albas and bought my first slice of pizza with money I earned .I have stopped there many times after that sal was a joy to be around.He will be missed by many people.

Salvatore was one of my customer's who purchased pizza products from mehe not only was a customer but a true friend his son John and wife were one of the best customers I had there are no words for there honesty and integrity of the family made the best pizzas that I've eaten in the past 25 years I will miss him dearly,
