

Stanley Szymanski, age 83, of Manchester, died Wed., Nov. 26 at Arista Care, Manchester. Born in Newark, NJ, Stan was raised in Irvington and lived in Edison for 31 years before moving to Manchester 16 years ago. He worked as a self employed appliance repairman for many years and retired in 1991.
He was a Navy veteran serving during the Korean War, from 1951-1954. When Stanley was honorably discharged from the Navy, he played professional baseball for Minnesota, associated with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Julia Szymanski nee Hopta; his children, Michael; Diane and husband Joseph Updegrove; Lynn; Carol Andrews and Stanley and his wife Harmony and his grandchildren, Virginia, Victoria, Joseph, Julia, Dean and Myles.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 1 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home 115 Lacey Rd., Whiting. Final viewing at the funeral homeTuesday 9:45 am with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:45am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, Whiting. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Stanley's memory to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
