Stephen John Decker, Sr., 87, of Whiting passed away Friday, December 15, 2017. Born in Hawthorne, NJ, he lived in Butler, then Mantaloking before moving to Leisure Knoll in Manchester and finally settling in Crestwood Manor in Whiting.
He was a traffic manager for Drew Chemical in Boonton and later for Mosler Safe in Wayne before retiring in 1992. He loved the beach and traveling. He was a noted carver of decorative duck decoys.
Mr. Decker was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Halsey Decker. Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years, Doris A. Decker; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Patrick Luckey of Brick; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen J., Jr. and Victoria Decker; four grandchildren, Megan Davis and her husband, Brian, Patrick Luckey, Stephen G. Decker and Melissa Meyer; and three great-grandchildren, Brody Davis and William and Jazmin Meyer.
A Memorial Gathering will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting with a Memorial
