William Francis Brooks was born on December 14, 1939 and passed away on January 29, 2021. He grew up in Mespath, Queens New York. During his life he served in the United States Army, was a finish carpenter and had his own contracting business. As he aged, he changed careers and became a grief counsellor during the 9-11 era. After completing his Bachelors’ Degree, he served as a counsellor for grief, matrimony, and substance abuse along with other social issues on staff at Gateway Cathedral in Staten Island. Most recently, he was a Chaplain at the Ocean County jail and served the inmates during times of grief. He also facilitated Bible Studies and provided support to inmates at needed. Bill also served as a Deacon at Whiting Bible Church, Whiting New Jersey for nearly 2 years before his illness.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lenora Brooks, their children Rosanne Alfano, Geraldine Finney, Francine McKay and Chad Diffendale, as well as 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by extended family members, friends, co-workers.
