Alta was born on August 8, 1939 in Waurika, Ok to Willie Samuel Belvin and Luda Bell Dale. She married Bob Kafer in 1954 and then married the love of her life Fred Hancock on July 15, 1959 until his passing in 2008. She worked for Southwestern Drug company as a pharmaceutical assistant. She was also the manager at the American Legion in her later years. Alta was an avid Pool player joining many pool leagues. She also loved to play games and cards.
Survivors include children, Katherine Jean Currie and husband Thomas, Bobby Kent Kafer, and Stacy Lynn Gowen and husband James; grandchildren; Kayla Kafer, Shea Lynn Hancock, Garrett Holmes, Zackery Gowen, and Haylee Gowen; brother, Billy Belvin and wife Karen; cousin, Barbara Price; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Hancock; son, Billy Wayne Kafer; stepsons, Bobby Hancock and Donnie Hancock; sister, Jean Temple.
