Sue was born on January 23rd, 1938 to Herman T. and Emily Dunn in Chickasha, OK. The family soon after relocated to Wichita Falls. It was here in Wichita Sue met and married Roy Cecil Smith in 1970 and raised three wonderful children. Sue’s career was mainly in the food management business from which she retired in 2003. But her real passion lay in the greater work God gave her to raise her family in the Lord and to protect their faith and well-being. And, in return Sue was surrounded all her life by the blessing of family who cherished her.
Sue enjoyed life and lived it in the abundance God gave her. She loved reading the Bible, drawing, painting, singing, dancing, family cruises, traveling, glamping in the RV with her family, history, cooking and especially her summer gardens and the taste of a fresh cucumber straight from the vine. But, her greatest love, aside from her family, remains the Lord Jesus.
Sue was ready for almost any adventure as long as it didn’t include an airplane ride. She had a fun spirit, loved to laugh with friends and family, and was a seeker of truth. She was generous and giving to any who had need. And, while she was serious when it was time to talk with the grandkids, nieces, or nephews about making wise choices, doing the right thing, and following God, Sue had a bold love and a sweet spirit.
Sue is predeceased by her husband, her parents, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her sister, Kathy Lien; her three children, Larry Bryan Boydston, Kristy (Donovan) Cook; and Shanda Smith (Keith Nicholson); and the apples of her eye 14 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
