Born on November 30, 1958, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Bobby and Linda (DeSilva) Chennault, Barbara spent her life dedicated to caring for others. After attending Altus High School, she earned her GED in 1987, a testament to her commitment and determination. For most of her life, she was a beloved child care provider, finding joy and purpose in nurturing children and helping them grow.
Barbara was a woman of deep passions and an even deeper love for her family and friends. When she loved you, she loved you with her whole heart. Generous and caring, her mind was always on what she could do for her loved ones. She was a friend to anyone who needed one, always ready to listen and to help. This empathy was rooted in her nature; she wore her heart on her sleeve and felt everything strongly, a trait that runs in the family. This allowed her to be truly understanding, putting so much care into everything she did.
She also loved the color blue and listening to old country music. Her greatest loves were her dogs, whom she cherished like her own children. An avid crafter, she enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and making children's blocks. Her more recent hobbies included diamond painting and coloring, which brought her a sense of peace and creativity.
Above all, Barbara’s greatest pride came from her family. She often said her proudest moment was the birth of her daughter, and she treasured being present for the births of her grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Burns) Brown, and her husband, Arlandus; her grandchildren, Kenan Burns, Jaden Roberson, Christyn Temme, and Cyraiah Temme, her great-grandchildren, Aliyah and Aden Roberson, and Evyn Brown. She is also survived by her sister, EJay (Chennault) Rippy, and her husband, Patrick, as well as her nephews, Caleb Jones, Spencer Rippy, Kaden Rippy, and Zander Rippy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Chennault; her stepmother, Judy Chennault Robinson; and her grandmother, Mabel Mott Chennault.
