Born on September 5, 1934, in Dublin, Texas, Barbara lived a life rooted in faith, friendship, and family. She attended North Dallas High School and later graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Home Economics.
On September 7, 1957, Barbara married Robert Arthur Mengel, whom she had known since elementary school. Together, they shared 61 years of marriage and built a loving home filled with faith and laughter. Along with Robert, she owned and operated Longhorn Chevrolet in Wichita Falls. Together, they built not only a successful business but also a life full of adventure, enjoying travels around the world.

Affectionately known as “Nano” to her close family, Barbara will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her playful ornery spirit, and the many lives she brightened over her 91 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Cadman of Archer City, Texas, and Malaye (Brian) Kinder of Allen, Texas; her grandsons, James (Sara) Cadman of Hurst, Texas, and Trent (Michelle) Cadman of McKinney, Texas; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Jack Cadman and Violet Cadman.
