Barry Scott Rogers was born January 26th, 1967 in Birmingham, Alabama to Judy Faye Moreno and Jimmie Earl Rogers. A military brat, Barry grew up traveling the world. His adoring sister dubbed him “Peanut” when he was a toddler- tiny but fast. Barry grew up loving to spend his time fishing and exploring. He graduated high school in Wichita Falls in 1986. He married Vicky Ashmore in 1991 and became the proud father of Barry Scott Rogers Jr..
Barry later married Elettra Reddell on a Valentine’s Day. They called Wichita Falls home, loving and engaging with family and friends. He worked at a local nursing home where he loved helping the elderly and disabled. Later, Barry worked for Midwestern State University as a chef in the dining halls. This was his pride, joy, and passion. He loved cooking… briskets… roasts… special sandwiches… he just enjoyed cooking. His favorite hobby throughout his life continued to be fishing. He loved his family… family meals and family holidays. He would pop over to visit his mom at random moments just for a chat and a hot cup of coffee. Barry passed away on August 24th, 2025 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his beloved Elettra and his father. He is survived by his mother Judy Moreno (Eli Moreno) and son Barry Rogers Jr, sister Wendy Thal (Mike Thal), and brother Greg Rogers (Christie Rogers).
Loved and remembered.
