Betty Jo Austin

Betty Jo Austin, 83 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Rodgers of Grace Church officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 25, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Betty was born in Wichita Falls, TX on October 23, 1931 to Charles and Martha Clark. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School and went on to graduate from Draughons Business College. She worked in the Civil Service field, employed by Social Security Administration, and retired in 1994.

Throughout her life, Betty enjoyed traveling, playing bridge with friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a part of the local bridge club for many years, Bridge-A-Gap. She attended Grace Church for many years where she enjoyed going to bible study. She had the dearest heart, and cared for people unselfishly. Her sweet and caring spirit reflected in everything she did and she will be greatly missed.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Sandra Fought and husband Danny, and Joanna Austin; a brother James B. Clark and wife Betty; granddaughters, Jennifer Collins and husband Tyson, Shalena Bost and Deanna Fought; three great grandchildren, Gage, Isabella, and Randall; her life- long best friend, Ivajean Angel, whom spent many hours by her side. She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Austin.
