Betty L. Cain, 79, longtime resident of the area passed away Friday, March 20, 2015. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in the Garden of Memory of Crestview Memorial Park with Rev. Harvey McMurry officiating and under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cain was born April 21, 1935 in Munday, Texas to Burl E. Mayfield and Lena Bell (Miller) Mayfield. She was Pentacostal by faith. She worked at numerous jobs but was especially proud of being a Nurses’ Aide. She married William D. “Willie” Cain and he preceded her in death January 29th of this year. Betty found her faith in gospel music. She loved Blue Grass music and together with Willie they shared their mutual love of it and traveled and played in many places with many friends who did likewise.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, “Willie” Cain; five of her brothers, Asbury, Emmett, Howard, Chester, and Wayne Mayfield.
She is survived by her remaining brother, Archie L. Mayfield and wife Lois of Archer City, TX and several nieces and nephews.
