

Betty Gene Coffman, 80, of Wichita Falls passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in a local hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, December 20, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church, 3601 Taft Blvd. with Dr. Ike Butterworth and Reverend Bob Brown officiating with eulogies delivered by Charlie Barnard and Dr. David Flack. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Coffman was a native and lifelong resident of Wichita Falls and was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church. She married Vaughn Coffman here in Wichita Falls in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2001. Betty taught school at Fain Elementary for 38 years in which time she received the West Award five times in her career. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She loved music and sang in the choir at First Presbyterian Church for 45 years. Betty was a special person who touched so many lives, not only her many students, but parents, co-workers and all who knew her.
Betty is survived by her son Vaughn Z. Coffman of Wichita Falls and brother-in-law, Marlon Coffman and wife, Gene of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Also preceding her were her mother, Bee Lewis; daughter, Bee Lynn Rippy and son-in-law, Vernon Rippy.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Scott Parker, David Kimbell, Jr., Vincent Rincon, Steve Becknal, Barry Macha, Ken Hatfield, Charlie Barnard and Dr. David Flack.
