Betty L Phelps

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, August 31, 2021, from 5-7 P.M. at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, TX. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Betty was born January 7, 1947, in Goldsboro, NC, to L.L. 'Buster' Wilson, Jr. and Betty Wilson. She married Charles Phelps in Wichita Falls on December 31, 2002. Betty was a Counselor for Wichita Falls ISD, a member of Anchor Baptist Church and Founder of the 50 Plus Charity Quilters.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Phelps, a son, Scott Welch and wife, Bianca, 2 grandchildren, Grant and Ashlynn, step-mother, Myrtle Wilson, a brother, David Wilson and wife, Claudia, 3 sisters, Cindy Daniels, Jane Keen and husband, Danny and Holly Parish and husband, Teddy and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, 'Buster' Wilson, mother, Betty Cain and step-father, Jim Cain, 2 sisters, Kathy Eubanks and Angel Wilson and brother, Mark Wilson.

Betty was a firm believer in charity and giving back. The 50 Plus Charity Quilters group will continue her legacy by producing quilts to be given to the community.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, Wichita Falls Area Food Bank or Meals on Wheels.
