Bibiano A. Gamboa Sr.

Bibiano (Bibi) A. Gamboa, Sr., 86, of Wichita Falls passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September, 2, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Noa Nguyen, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 Thursday evening at Hampton Vaughan with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.

Mr. Gamboa was born December 2, 1924 in Laredo, Texas to the late Celso and Belen (Aguilar) Gamboa. They moved to Wichita Falls at an early age and he was a near lifelong resident. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and participated in many of the church activities. He was also a member of the Capri Club. Bibi was a highly sought after cook and worked at several well known steak houses in Wichita Falls, including Pioneer and McBrides’ Land and Cattle Company Restaurant where he retired in 1984. He married Lupe H. (Herrara) Gamboa on October 5, 1947 and she preceded him in death in 2009.

Survivors are his children Bebe Gamboa, Jr. and wife, Irene of Wichita Falls, Olga Moffatt and husband, Dana of Rowlett, Tx., Robert Gamboa and wife, Cheryl of Portland, OR. and Chris Gamboa of Wichita Falls; sisters, Lydia and Frank Rodriquez, Estolia Vasquez, Mary Hernandez, Nellie and Paul Rios and Enedina and Vale Garcia; brothers, Tom and Chavela Gamboa and Tony Gamboa; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ramon Benavides Also preceding in death were sisters, Soledad Gamboa and Lupe Benavides, and a brother, Victor Gamboa. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
