Bobby Ritchie

He was born January 20, 1932 to M.B. (Burna) Ritchie and Cordie Lee Short Ritchie in Stoneburg, TX. The youngest of seven children, the family made their home on a farm in Belcherville, TX. Many wonderful memories were made down that dirt road.

He spent his adult life working for Halliburton and in truck sales in Wichita Falls, TX. He was an avid fisherman, horseman and hunter.

He married the love of his life, Lola Bowles, on August 2, 1968 in Henrietta, TX, sharing 56 years of marriage. They were active in the Hank Snow & the Mounted Promenaders and the Good Sam RV Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters (Dorothy, Lawanna, Betty, and Zona Gale) and two brothers (Bernard and James Wilson).

He is survived by his loving wife Lola, daughter Sandie Bates and husband Bob, son Max Byars and wife Pat, Sister-in-Law Cindy Grimstead and husband Steve, Brother-in-law Jerry Bowles, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also loved and revered by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled for August 8, 2024 from 1:00-2:00pm at First Baptist Church in Dean, TX, 7241 State Highway 79N, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the American Heart Association.
