Brian Smoot

Brian was born on December 15, 1974, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He never met a stranger and had a way of connecting with people wherever he went, turning acquaintances into friends and friends into family.

He found his calling in the world of insurance adjusting, where he thrived not only on the work itself but on the people he met along the way. Brian took great pride in mentoring others, managing teams, and building lifelong relationships through the adjusting community he so deeply valued.

Brian was a devoted husband and a proud father who loved his three children fiercely. Everything he did — every long day, every sacrifice — was for them. He worked endlessly to give his family stability, opportunity, and the kind of life he dreamed of building. His greatest joy came from seeing them happy, cared for, and loved beyond measure.

He enjoyed hunting and teaching his boys how to shoot, sharing those quiet, patient moments that built lifelong memories. He also loved the ocean, saying it gave him peace because when he looked out across the water, he felt like all his problems were behind him.

Above all else, Brian’s strength, humor, and heart will live on in those who were lucky enough to know him.

Brian is survived by wife, April Smoot; his daughter, Madeline Smoot; and his sons, Gavin and Gage Smoot, all of Wichita Falls. He is also survived by his mother, Darlene Smoot; his brother Gary Smoot and wife Crystal; Gary’s daughter Bailey and her husband Ethan, and their daughters Adeline, Eleanor, and Penelope; and his brother Jason Smoot and wife Stacy, and their sons Cooper and Colter.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Brian will be cremated according to his wishes, and a gathering will follow immediately after the service to share memories and honor his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, whose compassion and care meant so much in his final days.
